Creekside Camping in Northwest Arkansas
Valley of Peace is a Camping Location in Northwestern Arkansas, just 7 miles off the Buffalo River. It runs along Cave Creek, which is a tributary to the Buffalo River in Eastern Newton County Arkansas.
Valley of Peace is in the southern part of the Ozark Mountains, just North of the Ozark – St. Francis National Forest.
The Area is filled with Oak, Pine, Walnut, Hickory, and many other types of tree’s and Shrubs.
The part of Cave Creek that flows through the Valley of Peace is spring feed and cool and refreshing during the hot summer months.
While the creek is not full enough most of the year to support true float trips, there are a few good sized holes of water that can be paddled around on for fun. This photo was taken at the the swimming hole during our annual 4th of July BBQ.
If you prefer to take a long float trip, take a day away from the campsites and float the nearby Buffalo River.
Northwest Arkansas has many native animals, and at Valley of Peace we routinely see deer, rabbits, squirrels, frogs, turtles, and snakes. Sometimes our campers have even seen otters and beavers on the creek. This image of otters was taken by some of our guests one morning, when they woke up to see this family across the creek.
We also occasionally have Elk wander by off the National Forest, and there are many types of native birds, like Blue Heron’s, Hawks, Owls, Woodpeckers, Turkeys, Road Runners, Turkey Vultures, and sometimes Bald Eagles.
Whether you’re looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life, reconnect with nature, or simply indulge in a well-deserved retreat away, our campsites offer a unique experience that will leave you feeling refreshed and inspired.
